February data from Compete shows that the search engines are STILL growing… with an effective increase in search volumes.
(although the raw number of searches fell, February was a much shorter month, so searches per day grew overall!)
- No.1 search engine Google’s market share rose slightly to 71%
- No. 2 Yahoo dropped by 1% to 15.9%
- No. 3 Microsoft (Bing) rose slightly to 10.2%
So Google is still the big dog but the money and promotion Microsoft is pumping into Bing is starting to pay off as it starts to gain a solid userbase!
